Review on Google SketchUp

Google SketchUp  is a 3D modelling program for a broad range of applications such as architectural, civil, mechanical, film as well as video game design — and available in free as well as 'professional' versions.

The program highlights its ease of use, and an online repository of model assemblies (e.g., windows, doors, automobiles, entourage, etc.) known as 3D Warehouse enables designers to locate, download, use and contribute free models. The program includes a drawing layout functionality, allows surface rendering in variable "styles," accommodates third-party "plug-in" programs enabling other capabilities (e.g., near photo realistic rendering) and enables placement of its models within Google Earth.

The latest version of Google SketchUp is Google SketchUp 8. SketchUp 8 provides easy access to Google's huge collection of geographic resources. The snapshot you get when you add a geo-location to your model now includes 3D terrain data that's more accurate, and -- for the first time -- aerial imagery in color. The Match Photo feature lets you trace one or more photographs to build a model; it's an incredibly powerful tool. When it comes to modeling existing buildings, it's hard to beat Google Building Maker for speed and efficiency. We've made it simpler to open and refine Building Maker models in SketchUp. Turn these on to see your model's obscured edges as dashed lines. A great alternative to Wireframe or X-Ray mode when you need to be able to see through your model. Automatically generate a shape that completely encloses two or more solids in your model.

There is a professional version which you have to pay for but it has alot more features such as a powerful new set of tools for additive and subtractive modelinga dedicated tool for creating angular dimensions,  support for DWG/DXF 2010 format with export, configurable dashed lines and Precise Move in LayOut.

The Adventures Sherlock Holmes is a series of stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. They are detective stories based in London. Holmes first appeared in publication in 1887. The book was published in England on 14 October 1892 by George Newnes Ltd and in a US Edition on 15 October by Harper. The initial combined print run was 14,500 copies.
The 12 stories in this collection are:

  • "A Scandal in Bohemia"
  • "The Adventure of the Red-Headed League"
  • "A Case of Identity"
  • "The Boscombe Valley Mystery"
  • "The Five Orange Pips"
  • "The Man with the Twisted Lip"

  • "The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb"
  • "The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor"

I think this a good book as detective storis are in my wall of fame. But even for others It would be a great start to reading big books.

Review on Skylanders Giants

Review on Skylanders Giants

Skylanders giants is a game and the sequel of Skylanders Spyros adventure. the story is that, in Spyros adventure a bad guy named Kaos tries to take over Skylands (a magical world) the Skylanders usually save Skylands but they were banished to earth in an frozen form, so you have to put them on the Portal of power to bring them to life in Skylands. you will then control them and try to defeat Kaos, you can also upgrade your Skylander to get new powers. in the giants game kaos returns and he plans to get the hand of the king of the Arkiens which transform's him into  a powerful robot with an army of even more robots called Arkeins. you have to use the giants who previously defeated the old robot king. you will still have to put them on the portal as they are frozen too.

The game is around £50 which includes a portal of power, the game, a giant and two series 2 skylanders. If you have Spyros adventure you can by a different pack for around £30 with one giant and the game.

I have finished the game and I think its is a great game, but there is one problem its quite short.

Review on The British Library

The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom. The library is a major research library, holding over 150 million items from many countries, in many languages and in many formats, both print and digital: books, manuscripts, journals, newspapers, magazines, sound and music recordings, videos, play-scripts, patents, databases, maps, stamps, prints, drawings. The Library's collections include around 14 million books, along with substantial holdings of manuscripts and historical items dating back as far as 2000 BC. British Library is one of the two largest libraries in the world, the other being The Library of CongressThe British Library adds some three million items every year occupying 9.6 kilometers (6.0 mi) of new shelf space. The British Library was created on 1 July 1973 as a result of the British Library Act 1972. Prior to this, the national library was part of the British Museum, which provided the bulk of the holdings of the new library, alongside smaller organisations which were folded in (such as the National Central Library, the National Lending Library for Science and Technology and the British National Bibliography). In 1974 functions previously exercised by the Office for Scientific and Technical Information were taken over; in 1982 the India Office Library and Records and the HMSO Binderies became British Library responsibilities. In 1983, the Library absorbed the National Sound Archive, which holds many sound and video recordings, with over a million discs and thousands of tapes.

The core of the Library's historical collections is based on a series of donations and acquisitions from the 18th century, known as the 'foundation collections'. These include the books and manuscripts of Sir Robert Cotton, Sir Hans Sloane, Robert Harley and the King's Library of King George III, as well as the Old Royal Library donated by King George II.
